118-meter Channel Being Built alongside Jalan Gang Kelinci II

The 118-meter-long water channel is being built on Jalan Gang Kelinci II, RT 13/04, Pasar Baru Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta.

Hopefully, it is capable of minimizing flooding in the area when it rains

Maintenance Division Head, Achmad Daeroby expressed, the channel is made to replace the damaged ones in draining water into Ciliwung River's connecting channel (phb).

"Thus far, the progress has touched 65 meters from a total length of 118 meters with 70 centimeters depth and 60 centimeters width. The previous channel was only 40 centimeters depth and 40 centimeters width," he expressed, Monday (1/10).

He said, it has been ongoing since early December 2021 and is targeted to be completed by the end of January.

"To execute it, we have 20 personnel plus one excavator at the site," he said.

RT 123/04 Pasar Baru Urban Village Chairman, Loapiabun (60), appreciated the agency's quick response in following up on residents' requests regarding the construction of channels.

"The work on site is also pretty neat. Hopefully, it is capable of minimizing flooding in the area when it rains," he said.
